Overview
Roo Code was born as a community fork of Cline and adds custom modes for role-specific work (coding, design, testing, etc.) and boomerang-tasks for sub-agent delegation. It supports Claude, GPT, and local LLMs.
Multi-Agent Use
Roo Code's Orchestrator mode lets a parent agent assign subtasks to child agents, building multi-agent pipelines inside VS Code. Combined with DocDD, each role can work autonomously while referencing shared design documents.
