Computer Use (Anthropic)

Also known as: Anthropic Computer Use / コンピュータ操作AI / Claude Computer Use

Anthropic's Claude capability for autonomous desktop control via screenshots and mouse/keyboard, enabling agents to execute any GUI task.

Overview

Computer Use entered beta in October 2024, enabling Claude to 'see' and interact with screens via screenshots. It is available through the API, with a reference implementation that operates an Ubuntu desktop inside a Docker container.

Business Applications

It is particularly effective for automating legacy systems that lack APIs, such as document creation, internal system navigation, and data entry. Alongside GPT-5.4's Computer Use API, it has become a mainstream UI automation technology in 2026. See also GPT-5.4 Computer Use.
