Scaled Content Abuse
Also known as: 大量コンテンツ生成スパム / Scaled Content Spam
A Google spam policy violation that covers generating large volumes of low-quality content using AI or automation primarily to game search rankings rather than help users.
Overview
Google formally added Scaled Content Abuse to its spam policies in the March 2024 core update. It targets auto-generated, duplicated, or heavily templated pages produced at scale, and can trigger site-wide manual actions. It does not ban AI content in general — quality and intent are what matter.
Relationship with Helpful Content
Scaled Content Abuse is a spam policy violation (subject to manual action) while Helpful Content is a quality algorithm signal (automated assessment). The remedy for both is the same: produce genuinely useful, original content written for people.
