Schema.org

Also known as: Schema.org / 構造化データボキャブラリー

A shared vocabulary for structured data, jointly maintained by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex. Implemented via JSON-LD or Microdata, it gives search engines a common language to understand page semantics.

Overview

Schema.org was co-founded in 2011 by the major search engines. It offers a wide range of types — Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Organization, DefinedTerm, and more — with JSON-LD being Google's recommended implementation format.

Impact on AI Search

When AI Overviews and AI Mode evaluate citation candidates, Schema.org markup aids machine comprehension of page content. DefinedTerm, Article, and FAQPage markup have direct LLMO benefits as well. See our LLMO technical implementation guide.
